Hill "Signature" guitars are custom-made using the most up-to-date designs, methods and materials to produce the highest quality of playability, projection and volume. This particular model is the "Standup" version which has a slightly altered shape of the back and sides to accommodate its being "worn" (with a strap), much like an electric guitar. It features dual soundports, a raised fingerboard and a "double top" soundboard which has a layer of Nomex sandwiched between two very thin layers of spruce (underneath) and cedar (on the outside). This makes for an extremely lightweight soundboard, but is also quite stiff, so structurally very stable. Outwardly it looks like a normal cedar soundboard. This technique is borrowed from ultra light aviation technology. It is braced using a lightweight system of lattices for a durable but flexible system.Luthier Bio: Kenny Hill
