2011 Kenny Hill "Signature SP/CD" SP/IN

Hill "Signature" guitars are custom-made using the most up-to-date designs, methods and materials to produce the highest quality sound, playability and beauty. This guitar in particular has a stunning bear-claw spruce top. This is one of the "Signature" models and features dual soundports, a raised fingerboard and a "double top" soundboard - as first practiced by Damman, Wagner, and others. It is a sandwich of Nomex, an ultra light cell structure, between two very thin layers of both cedar underneath and spruce on the outside. This makes an extremely light sound board, but is also quite stiff, in a good way. Outwardly it seems just like a normal spruce soundboard. This technique is borrowed from ultra light aviation technology. It is braced using a lightweight system of lattices for a durable but flexible system.
