Description

Ana Espinosa Rodriguez is a Spanish luthier based in Granada, Spain. She grew up in a woodworking family and herself studied fine arts including weaving. In 1989 she married René Baarslag, a Dutch guitar maker who came to Granada in 1977. Ana built her first guitar in 1997 and has been building ever since. Originally inspired by Torres designs, she has found her own style through various other influences and currently offers two classical models (as well as a flamenco), a standard model and one with raised fingerboard. The guitar we have here is the raised fingerboard model and includes a 20th fret (high c natural). Sound of the guitar is very deep and full - it truly shows off the full range of sound only capable with cedar - every note is stacked with a rich overtone content and yet the separation between notes is maintained. It's a delight to play with plenty of power and easy playability. Apart from some minor playing wear the guitar is in excellent condition.
