Description

After Greg Smallman, Jim Redgate is perhaps the next best well-known maker of lattice-top guitars working out of Australia. Like Smallman, these guitars have thick, heavily domed backs that create an extremely rigid and solid body whereby almost all vibration from the plucked string is limited to the soundboard. The soundboard itself is thin but heavily reinforced with a lattice system of over 20 braces made from the very lightweight but durable material of balsa wood with carbon fiber elements integrated throughout. The added power of this system has been attractive to recent younger players, most notably Ana Vidovic, who has had success concertizing on instruments by this maker. Although this is a used guitar, it is in excellent condition with only a few superficial scratches and nicks.
