Description

This guitar was built in the famous Jose Ramirez III workshop, which for over half a century has produced instruments performed on by countless professionals from Sting to Segovia, Chet Atkins to Sabicas and Lee Ritenour to Christopher Parkening.

This is an excellent example of an older peg-head (pegs have been replaced with mechanical pegs for greater ease of use) concert flamenco from the golden era of Ramirez. It has 2 cracks on the soundboard and 2 cracked areas on the sides (1 at the treble side lower bout and the other at the foot) that are well-repaired and perfectly stable, and was re-finished with a new tap plate added. The guitar is ready for immediate use for any professional setting. It is lightweight and comfortable, with a dry and aggressive old-world flamenco sound. An excellent example of a classic sounding and looking Ramirez flamenco.

For more information on Ramirez, be sure to read The Ramirez Family: Masters of the Guitar, or for information on the Ramirez family members, from Amalia Ramirez back to Jose I and for some interesting fact-checking on myths and facts about this legendary workshop.
