Description

One of the most beautiful guitars we have ever seen from Hermann Hauser II, who is considered to be one of the greatest makers of the twentieth century. Playability is easy, due to the slender and very comfortable neck shape. It is also a very powerful for a Hauser II of this period, with excellent projection. The fundamental tones are very clear and bell-like with almost perfect separation. Basses are very strong, steady and precise. Overall, the instrument is like a loud and balanced piano, but with the lyrical charm and sweetness of a great, warm and loose Hauser I. The materials used on this instrument are unbelievable, the CSA rosewood on the back and sides is of the most stunning variety we’ve seen on any guitar. The old, aged top has a deep, honey/amber quality in the patina and contains generous amounts of bearclaw. Of historical interest, this guitar (#616) is only 4 guitars away from Segovia's 1958 Hauser (#612). The Hauser dynasty, now spanning 5 generations, have produced instruments played by countless concert artists including Andres Segovia, Julian Bream, the Romeros and many others This is a great sounding, looking, and playing Hauser II, and a dream for either collector or performer. It was also one of the instruments selected for use on the upcoming CD release from GSI with guitarist Marc Teicholz, called "Valseana".
