Hill "Signature" guitars are custom-made using the most up-to-date designs, methods and materials to produce the highest quality sound, playability and beauty. The current "Signature" Model features a "double top" (pioneered originally by Dammann, Wagner, and others) composed of a Nomex core (an ultra light cell structure), "sandwiched" between two very thin layers of cedar (on the outside) and spruce (on the inside). This makes for an extremely light and efficient soundboard, but is domed in such a way as to maximizes stiffness at the same time - very important for both the sound quality and structural stability. Outwardly it seems just like a normal cedar soundboard. This technique is borrowed from ultra light aviation technology. It is braced using a lightweight system of lattices for a durable but flexible system. Other features include dual soundports, 20th fret, truss rod (for easy setup) and raised fingerboard. Although a used guitar it is in excellent condition with only some superficial wear on the top. A hardshell case is included with this guitar.
