Description

Built in the Felipe V shop in Madrid by brothers Mariano and Felipe Conde, this is a reproduction of a 1953 guitar built by their father and uncle - the earliest known guitar to feature the now-famous "media luna" headstock shape. It was created at the behest of GSI, after we viewed the original guitar in their shop several years ago. Very light in weight and more traditional-sounding than any other Conde model in production, it represents the flamenco guitar of the mid-20th century perfectly. Although there is certainly a hint of Esteso's style in this instrument, the tone of this guitar is bright, clear and even a bit brash. Very loud when pushed, it has quite a bit of snap to it while still retaining a warmer, "broken-in" quality often only found in older instruments. With very low action and a comfortable neck, the guitar handles very easily and is a joy to play. A perfect guitar for collector or performer alike. This is the "negra" version of the 1953 reproduction, with Indian rosewood used for the sides and back. Although a "used" guitar, condition is excellent with only minor wear in the finish. This guitar was used on the track "Elegia" on the album "Contra Tiempo" by Kai Narezo.

A hardshell case is included with this guitar.
