Description

For over half a century, the name of Jose Ramirez is perhaps the most recognized to classical and flamenco guitar aficionados. Ramirez instruments have been performed on by countless professionals from Sting to Segovia, Chet Atkins to Sabicas and Lee Ritenour to Christopher Parkening.

This is the re-isseud version of the old classic "SP" model, featuring a striking rosette (designed by Amalia Ramírez) and a simpler, smaller label (similar in many ways to labels from previous periods). This instrument is designed for the semi-professional (hence the model designation "SP") at a mid-price. Playability and tone are superb with plenty of volume for the concert stage. This model is the cedar top version, which many players believe provides Ramirez with their classic sound - Ramirez were the first to popularize the use of cedar starting in the mid 1960's. Although a used guitar, it's in great shape with only some superficial scratches and small dings in the finish on the soundboard - otherwise no damage or repairs. A truly remarkable value for the player who needs a top-level instrument but cannot make the financial jump to the 1a models.
