Coming Soon: Mario Grimaldi’s Tribute to Santos Hernández

A new guitar by Italian luthier Mario Grimaldi is coming soon to GSI—a tribute model honoring legendary Spanish maker Santos Hernández.

Grimaldi began as a guitarist before apprenticing with Carlo Raspagni and eventually establishing his own workshop in 1989. His guitars have been influenced by Bouchet, Hauser I, and Pietro Gallinotti, whose tools and materials he inherited. In addition to building and restoring instruments, Grimaldi has published important books such as: “Pietro Gallinotti, Luthier of Solero” and “Il Legno Che Canta”.

This latest instrument reflects both his deep historical knowledge and refined craftsmanship.
