Ariel Ameijenda Shares Sneak Peek Photos of His Newest Cedar-Top Guitar
Uruguayan luthier Ariel Ameijenda has completed a new guitar that will soon be shipped to GSI. This instrument showcases Ariel's refined craftsmanship, featuring a beautiful cedar top paired with CSA rosewood for the back and sides.
Ariel continues to build on the legacy started by his father, Manuel Ameijenda, who crafted his first guitar over 70 years ago. Last year marked the 70th anniversary of Ameijenda guitars, highlighting a family tradition of dedication to the art of luthiery. Ariel, as a second-generation luthier with over 45 years of experience, has developed unique methods that focus on the acoustics and tonal balance of each instrument.
This latest guitar reflects Ariel’s ongoing exploration of tone production. His approach emphasizes adjusting the thickness of the top in specific areas to achieve the desired tonal qualities, a technique he has refined over decades of study and practice.
