Coming Soon: A New Bertrand Ligier Classical Guitar in Spruce & African Rosewood
We're delighted to announce the imminent arrival of a stunning new instrument from Bertrand Ligier, the gifted French luthier whose workshop in the Languedoc region of Southern France continues to produce some of the most refined classical guitars in the contemporary French tradition.
Bertrand belongs to that rare breed of makers who treat lutherie as a lifelong pursuit of refinement. Each instrument that leaves his bench reflects his relentless drive to push his craft forward, and his guitars carry the unmistakable character of the French school — austere, complex, and quietly confident, with nothing extraneous to distract from the music.
Tonally, Bertrand's guitars aim to unlock the full acoustic potential of the instrument without ever sacrificing beauty of sound. His most recent work has shown a noticeably more balanced voice, with basses that sing with real power and lyricism. The overall character remains elegant and refined, but there is an added touch of old-world charm that gives these instruments a special depth.
The materials used are gorgeous as well. It features a spruce sound board and African rosewood back and sides.
As always with Bertrand's work, the craftsmanship is exceptional and the attention to detail extraordinary. Stay tuned — sneak peek photos coming soon!
