Julia Wenzel Builds a New Guitar for GSI

German luthier Julia Wenzel is putting the final touches on a new guitar for our store, built with a cedar top and a striking set of Indian rosewood for the back and sides. She earned second prize at the 2017 Antonio Marín Montero Guitar Building Competition in Granada and is known for her close connection to the traditional Spanish school, often drawing inspiration from Miguel Rodríguez’s guitars of the 1960s.

In 2024, Julia was also featured in our on-location video series produced in collaboration with D’Addario, where her craftsmanship was highlighted in detail. We’re looking forward to welcoming this instrument to our showroom soon.
