Before embarking on a career in guitar making, Granada luthier Oscar Muñoz spent 20 years working in cabinetmaking and carpentry. This background provided him with a strong foundation when he transitioned to guitar making in 2013, after taking construction courses taught by Stephen Hill and Pablo Requena. He also built a close-knit community with a group of young Granada-based makers and players, including Sergio Valverde, Federico Udini, and brothers Javier and Sixto Moreno. After several years honing his craft, he achieved notable recognition by earning second prize at the prestigious Antonio Marín Montero Guitar Making Competition in Granada, Spain, in October 2017.
