A Sneak Peek at Our Next Guitar by Thomas Dauge
French luthier Thomas Dauge has shared some sneak peek photos of his next guitar for GSI!
Based in Bordeaux, Dauge began building instruments in 1998, initially focusing on folk and gypsy jazz guitars before transitioning to classical and flamenco models. Over time, he chose to specialize exclusively in classical guitars. In 2006, after eight years of self-taught guitar making, he established his workshop. During this formative period, he also studied Daniel Friederich's work at the musical acoustics laboratory in Paris.
Dauge's early instruments drew heavily from the Spanish tradition, inspired by masters like Torres, Santos Hernández, and Miguel Rodríguez. Over time, however, his style evolved under the influence of the French school, blending these inspirations into a distinctive approach. Today, his guitars occupy a unique place in international guitar making, combining the traditions of Spanish craftsmanship with the innovations of modern French lutherie.
Below, you can see photos of his latest guitar which is coming soon to GSI.
