Strasbourg-based Maker, Jean-Noël Rohé, Shares the Photos of His Next Guitar!
Luthier Jean-Noël Rohé is undoubtedly one of the top French luthiers of his generation. His guitars are refined in every detail with a very high level of craftsmanship and extremely tasteful execution. He likes to compare the making of a guitar to wine-making, in that the vintner's personality is present in the final product in much the same way as the luthier's does. Grape varieties and scents blend in the similar fashion as do wooden framework and sound structure. For the connoisseur of fine guitars, the guitars built by this maker does for the ears what the finest wines do to the palates of the most discriminating wine aficionados.
Jean-Noël has shared with us some sneak peek photos of his next guitar built for GSI. The materials used are very impressive! For this guitar, Jean-Noël used an old spruce top acquired from Daniel Friederich. The back and sides are made of a beautiful set of CSA rosewood.
