The Omni Foundation Releases a New On-Location Concert Featuring Sanel Redžić
The Omni Foundation for the Performing Arts has recently released a very interesting video. It's a concert featuring guitarist Sanel Redžić in a full-length recital filmed inside Erfurt’s Kaufmannskirche, a 900-year-old church closely linked to the Bach family.
Recorded on October 25, 2023, the concert places Redžić’s performance within a striking historical context. The Kaufmannskirche holds more than 60 archival entries documenting the weddings, baptisms, and funerals of the Bach family, including the 1668 marriage of Johann Sebastian Bach’s parents. Bach himself is known to have visited this church during “Bach family days,” making it a meaningful setting for the works included in this program.
In the video, Redžić performs music by J.S. Bach, Luigi Legnani, Astor Piazzolla, and Alexandre Tansman, offering a wide-ranging musical journey presented in a live-performance format with the artist’s own commentary woven throughout.
The guitar featured in the recording was built by our good friend Dietrmar Heubner.
We’re proud to continue supporting the Omni Foundation and its work documenting performances in culturally significant locations around the world.
