Scott Tennant Visits GSI: Three Guitars, Three Stories

Last week, we were honored to welcome Scott Tennant to GSI for a very special series of recorded conversations — three interviews, three guitars, and the stories that bind them together. Scott Tennant, a founding member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet and one of the most influential guitarists of his generation, sat down with GSI president David Collett for three short interviews. The premise was simple: Scott would discuss instruments from his past which are currently available at GSI for purchase.

2000 Matthias Dammann CD/CSAR (ex Scott Tennant)

Dammann began building in the early 1980s and rapidly established himself as one of the defining voices in lutherie thanks to his double tops.

2003 Gary Southwell "A-Series" SP/IN (ex Scott Tennant)

Scott used this guitar to record with the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet on their Grammy Award-winning album LAGQ's Guitar Heroes, specifically on the track "Gypsy Flower" composed by Matthew Dunne.

2006 Simon Marty SP/CO (ex Scott Tennant)

Scott played this Marty guitar around the same time he owned the Dammann instrument. Watch the interview to learn more about their shared history in his hands.
