2018 Teodoro Perez "Especial" SP/IM

The "Especial" is the top model from the Perez shop, and offers the absolute best in terms of decoration and materials. The sound is very distinctly Spanish, with a full, romantic tone and quick attack. There is plenty of warmth, clarity and volume for any situation, while retaining exceptional playability. Volume is also exceptional, even by "Madrid school" standards. It also features more elaborate detail work, including additional purfling and inlay. The materials selected for this model are always top-notch, but with this particular instrument, it features a gorgeous and exotic-looking set of quilted Imbuia for the back and sides (inlayed internally with walnut), bound on the top and back in maple which is simply nothing short of breathtaking. Neck is made from a dark piece of American walnut. All in, this is a stunning concert guitar in both appearance and sound.
