An Tran’s International Guitar Workshop in Hanoi – Sponsored by GSI

GSI is proud to sponsor the upcoming International Guitar Workshop organized by acclaimed guitarist An Tran in Hanoi, Vietnam. The workshop, taking place from August 1 - 9, 2025, will be hosted at the Art Meets Music Academy and will feature a distinguished lineup of guest artists, including Ben Verdery (USA), Patommavat Thammachard (Thailand), and Rie Schmidt (USA).

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a range of enriching activities, including daily technique classes, masterclasses, ensemble rehearsals, and concerts. Each student will work closely with An Tran and the guest artists, enhancing their performance skills and building a sense of community through shared musical experiences.

An Tran, who currently teaches at Roosevelt University, the University of Illinois Chicago, and Northern Illinois University, has been recognized as one of the leading guitarists of his generation. His 2020 album “Stay, My Beloved,” which highlights Vietnamese guitar music, was praised by Classical Guitar Magazine and included in the Chicago Tribune’s "Recordings of the Year."

Applications to participate in the workshop are open until May 22, 2025.
