A 1910 Manuel Ramirez Model by Liuteria Frignani — A New Collaborative Line Coming Soon to GSI!

Coming Soon

We’re excited to share an instrument from a new line created through the collaboration of master luthier Lorenzo Frignani and his son, Eugenio Frignani. This project was initiated following Eugenio’s entry into the workshop, combining Lorenzo’s decades of craftsmanship with Eugenio’s commercial background. The result is a fresh, parallel direction within the Frignani workshop—distinct from Lorenzo’s traditional production—offering players a unique, thoughtfully conceived instrument with its own identity.

The guitar featured here is based on a 1910 Manuel Ramirez model and has just been completed. It will soon be available for purchase at GSI. It features a classic 7-fan bracing system and a French polish finish, delivering a bright, traditional Spanish tone reminiscent of early 20th-century instruments.

In the violin world, it’s not uncommon for instruments to be finished with a “distressed” aesthetic to evoke age and history. Frignani brings this same philosophy to the new guitar line—this model is visually aged to reflect the look of a vintage instrument. The result is a guitar that looks and feels like an old-world instrument, while remaining entirely new and structurally sound.

Liuteria Frignani views these historically inspired replicas as a more accessible way for players to experience the tone and feel of classic instruments. Stay tuned—this exciting father-son collaboration will soon be available at GSI.
