Three New Guitars From The Teodoro Perez Workshop
The Teodoro Perez workshop has sent us sneak peek photos of three guitars that they are currently building for GSI. This Madrid-based workshop is known for the high quality of instruments. Their guitars are completely handmade and built in the traditional Spanish style.
Teodoro Perez was born in the province of Soria, in Spain in 1952 but moved to Madrid while still very young. In 1966 he began apprenticing in the famed Jose Ramirez III workshop, where he built guitars, lutes, bandurias and mandolins. During these years, he had the great honor of meeting some of the great maestros of the twentieth century, including Andres Segovia, Narciso Yepes, and several others. In 1970, after passing the appropriate tests, and with the approval of Jose Ramirez, he qualified as First Official and stamped the guitars he made with his initials GPM.
Currently, four makers are building together in Teodoro's workshop - Teodoro Perez, his daughter Beatriz, his son Sergio, and his son-in-law, Marco Tejeda (visible in the photo above).
In the photos below, you'll see three guitars that are coming soon to GSI.
