Fabricio Mattos at GSI

Live Performances

Sometimes things just work out, the way they did this week when guitarist Fabricio Mattos was at LAX on a ten hour layover between Europe and New Zealand. Fabricio’s friend, Nick Norton, met him at the airport and brought him over to GSI to pass the time in a nicer environment, and Fabricio somehow had the energy to record some great guitars for us.

Fabricio is a Brazilian-born guitarist who lives in Turin, Italy (near Luigi Locatto, whose guitar Fabricio played) and plays all over the world. His newest project is called Worldwide Guitar Connections, or WGC, and he’s been touring to promote new works.

Here’s Fabricio playing ‘Spell’ by Salomão Habib on a 1923 Domingo Esteso.

Here he is playing ‘Choro das Araucarias’ by Luis Claudioa on a 1930 Santos Hernandez.

Here he is playing ‘Suite of the Amazons “Nhamunda”’ by Salomão Habib on our new Luigi Locatto.

And playing “All Thus Stand Light”, Movement 2 by Paul Hart on a Ramirez 1a spruce-top.
