Flamenco Guitarist, CARO, Records Two New Videos!
Flamenco guitarist, CARO, has recently recorded two new videos in our showroom. This was her third recording session at GSI.
Caro has always been musically inclined, even as a child before she could walk. Her mother would find her banging on pots to the beat of Celia Cruz playing throughout the house. As a kindergartner, Caro learned to play two Peruvian instruments – the charango and zamponia, and as a first grader, she asked her mother to sign her up for her first Flamenco guitar lessons. Throughout her education, she has had the best mentors, including Walter Molina with whom she recorded at GSI in the past. Caro’s experience in the Flamenco world has been nothing short of exquisite. She has met and played for many of her idols, from dancers to singers, and of course guitarists – including Paco de Lucia!
In the first video, you can hear Caro's interpretation of "Benamargosa" (Fantasía) by Spanish guitar player, Rafael Riqueni. Caro decided to record this piece on a 1990 Miguel Rodriguez SP/CY. This guitar is a monster flamenco blanca, its sound is huge and full with a lightning-fast response.
Caro has also recorded her own piece! Her composition is titled "Alabando A Los Maestros". The guitar used in the video is a 1989 Arcangel Fernandez w/pegs SP/CY. Guitars made by this maker are considered to be one of the best Spanish flamenco guitars of the latter half of the twentieth century.
