New GSI Videos by Goran Ivanovic

A few months ago, Chicago-based guitarist and composer Goran Ivanovic recently spent a day recording in our showroom, and the videos have been rolled out on the GSI YouTube channel over the course of the past few months. He devoted the whole session to his own music, including pieces from his Children Songs, and other compositions.

Longtime followers will remember Goran from his duo visits with Fareed Haque. This time he came alone and focused primarily on his own music.

The Children Songs

Goran wrote this cycle for his young students. These are compact pieces, and far more musically substantial than the title suggests. Guitars feature in this cycle are: 2026 Oscar Munoz SP/ME, 2026 Otto Vowinkel SP/CSAR, 2026 German Vazquez Rubio "Classic Estudio-SM" SP/PE, 2003 Robert Ruck SP/IN, 2026 Fernando Moreno SP/AR, 1958 Manuel Velazquez SP/CSAR

Another interesting composition is "Frequency Illusion". Goran recorded it on a 2026 Oscar Munoz SP/ME. This a piece built from overlapping rhythmic layers, and it features a clever use of harmonics for melodic themes.

The next piece is "Brazilian Brothers". This interesting composition crosses stylistic boundaries. The rhythm introduced at the very beginning shapes the structure of the rest of this compositior. Goran recorded this video on a 2026 German Vazquez Rubio "Classic Estudio-SM" SP/PE.

The last piece published from this video shoot is Goran's "Deadlock". Goran recorded it on a 2026 Fernando Moreno SP/IN guitar.
