Masaki Sakurai

Here’s a very cool video from a TV show in Japan about luthier Masaki Sakurai. Among other things they do some cool experiments involving salt grains and tea on the top of the guitar to measure vibrations and stuff like that. The intro is a little long, so skip the first minute if you’re getting impatient, but the host of the show has a melodramatic sort of Iron Chef vibe to him, which is kind of funny (or else I’m completely culturally insensitive). I’ll post more of the show later this week.
