Orfeo Magazine No. 25: Origins of the Flamenco Guitar

Alberto Martinez has just released the latest issue of Orfeo Magazine dedicated to the Origins of the Flamenco Guitar. This issue no. 25, offers an in-depth look into the rich and complex history of the flamenco guitar. This beautifully produced edition features five renowned luthiers: Felipe Conde Sr., Felipe Conde Jr., Andrés Marvi, René Baarslag, and Francisco Barba.

At GSI, we’ve featured guitars by all of these makers. Guitars from Conde and Barba's workshops are particularly well documented—we’ve sold over 130 guitars built by members of the Conde family and 16 by Francisco Barba. Two Felipe Conde guitars are currently available in our store: a 2018 Felipe Conde "FP 14" (cutaway electric) SP/CY and a 2021 "Sobrinos de Esteso 1974" RW/CSAR.
