"Orfeo Magazine" No. 23 - The guitar in the Rio de la Plata region: its origins and its luthiers
Alberto Martinez has shared with us the newest issue of his "Orfeo Magazine". This time, he takes us on a guitar journey to the Rio de la Plata region in Uruguay and Argentina. The Rio de la Plata is a vast estuary formed by the confluence of the Paraná and Uruguay rivers, located on the southeastern coast of South America between Argentina and Uruguay.
You'll have a chance to learn about some historical makers such as Antonio Emilio Pascual, and Jose Yacopi, as well as the modern luthiers from that part of the world - Ariel Ameijenda, Alexis Parducci, Diego Contesti, and Mateo Crespi. The guitar featured by Ariel Ameijenda in this issue of the Orfeo Magazine is actually a guitar that he built for GSI! It's a 2024 Ariel Ameijenda "1885 Torres - SE 81" SP/CSAR.
