Pietro Ruscigno Becomes Our New GSI Intern

We’re thrilled to introduce you to Pietro Ruscigno, 2025/2026 GSI Foundation Scholar and our new GSI Intern. Pietro is a renowned Italian guitarist with performances in America and Europe and a doctoral candidate in Classical Guitar Performance at USC Thornton School of Music. He started playing guitar at 10 and has been winning prizes in international competitions since. Pietro is also a composer, taking classes in the USC Screen Scoring department, and plays lute and baroque guitar.
He has studied with world-famous guitarists such as Scott Tennant, Pepe Romero, and Antonio Rugolo, and has been a student in several masterclasses. He holds an undergraduate degree from Conservatorio di Musica Duni (Matera, Italy) and a master’s degree from USC Thornton School of Music.
The purpose of the GSI Internship is to help cultivate a practical skill set for guitarists aspiring to develop a wide range of knowledge about the guitar industry. Pietro's main area of focus will be GSI's newest teaching platform, TeacherNet. We hope Pietro and future interns leave feeling empowered and inspired to make an impact as both musicians and entrepreneurs in the guitar world.
