Sanel Redzic Performs A Concert In a 900-Year-Old Church In Erfurt, Germany.
Kaufmannskirche is a 900-year-old church located in the historical part of Erfurt, Germany. Through the centuries, the church has witnessed many events and has played a crucial part in the spiritual life of the city. In 1668, Johann Sebastian Bach's parents (Johann Ambrosius Bach and Maria Elisabeth Lämmemhirt) were married in this church. In fact, they got married exactly in the same spot where 355 years later guitarist Sanel Redzić recorded his newest video for the Omni Foundation for the Performing Arts!
The repertoire of the concert includes "III. Siciliano" and "IV. Presto" from J.S. Bach's "Violin Sonata No. 1, BWV 1001", three Caprices (No. 31, 22, and 7) by Luigi Legnani, and Astor Piazzolla's "Verano Porteño", "Milonga del Angel", and "Muerte del Ángel", Aleksander Tansman's "Passacaille", "Sarabande, BWV 1004" and "Chaconne" by J.S. Bach.
Sanel recorded this concert on a 2023 Dietmar Heubner guitar. GSI is very proud to be Dietmar's exclusive representative in the USA.
