Tara Rose Davison

Tara Rose Davison is a soprano who in the middle of an accomplished operatic career discovered a passion for art song accompanied by classical guitar. So she decided to learn the classical guitar. She dove into guitar studies, with Masakazu Ito of the Lamont School of Music and, more recently, with Scott Morris at Cal State Dominguez Hills. She recorded her first CD in 2010 – ‘Love Songs & Lullabies from Spain and South America for Soprano & Classical guitar’ – and has just released another this year called ‘L’Arte dell’Amore’. She stopped by the showroom this week and recorded a few pieces for us including ‘Cadencia’ by Ernesto Cordero on a Francisco Navarro Garcia ‘Smallman Premium’, ‘Fra Tutte Le Pene’ by Mauro Giuliani on a 1989 Miguel Rodriguez, Para Ninar by Paurillo Barroso, arranged by Laurindo Almeida on a 2009 Contreras double-top, and ‘Se Tu M’ami’ by Alessandro Parisotti on a Jean-Noel Rohe.
