Video - Alfredo Cáceres at GSI

Live Performances

My good friend Alfredo Cáceres is a monster guitarist – he grew up playing flamenco and jazz, he spent a few years at the Fundación in Sevilla studying with some amazing players and teachers, and he’s one of the hardest working guitarists in the L.A. area because he’s so good at so many styles, while still being a seriously legit flamenco player. I asked him to come play some guitars for us and told him to play whatever he wanted, and he asked if he could bring in his friend Waldo Valenzuela, with whom he’s been playing a lot of duo stuff lately.

So here’s Alfredo playing two solo pieces – his own ‘Rumba Pa’ Tita’ on a new Ethan Deutsch blanca and his arrangement of ‘Alfonsina y el Mar’ on a fantastic 1976 Reyes – and a duo piece with Waldo – Luiz Bonfa’s ‘Black Orpheus’ (Waldo plays a new Felipe Conde FP17 negra and Alfredo plays a new FP16 blanca – these are new models from Felipe Conde that will be up on the site soon).

Be sure to check out Alfredo’s newest CD “K’atun” on iTunes, CD Baby or Amazon and check out his site to hear more.
