This is a lovely instrument built by veteran US luthier Michael Thames, who has been making guitars for over 40 years. Dubbed the "Lacote" model, it's a period instrument based on the work of the famed historical French luthier of the 19th century, René Lacote. It features an Italian spruce soundboard and flamed maple sides and back, as well as a unique "ladder" style bracing system typical for Lacote instruments. It is smaller in size than the modern classical guitar, and is extremely lightweight. The tone is incredibly charming, with a round sweetness in every register. Due to the slender neck and light action, playability is a dream. Truly a fascinating, beautiful instrument.
