Swedish guitar maker Thomas Fredholm has been making instruments for 25 years, all beginning with an infatuation over a Martin steel-string guitar. His classical guitars have been played on by several famous artists over the years, including John Dearman, David Russell and even Andy Summers (of The Police). This example from 2008 features a double top made of cedar, as well as Indian rosewood sides and back, snakewood inlays and Sloane tuning machines. The sound is typical of a modern instrument - powerful, responsive and deep. Overall, a very well-made instrument, easily capable of concert use. The embedded video below was recorded on this very instrument by its previous owner - concert artist Mattias Jacobsson. In Mattias' own words: "What I love about this guitar, is her dynamic sensitivity, interesting color of sound, and ease to play: the combination of these qualities allow for music-making on any level – with a surprising degree of projection."
