Description
The 2026 Hermanos Camps "CL20-C" is a concert-level classical guitar with a cedar top and exotic ebony back and sides, made in Girona, Spain.
A Concert-Level Classical Guitar from Hermanos Camps
Like every "CL20", this is a concert-level instrument with plenty of power and richness of sound for virtually any genre of the classical repertoire, and the separation and balance between notes is superb.
Cedar Warmth and Dramatic Exotic Ebony
This version features a cedar top, which brings increased overtone content to every note, adding warmth and depth compared with its spruce counterpart. Materials are absolutely stunning, with a gorgeous and highly dramatic set of exotic ebony for the back and sides. Fantastic value for the price.
Background
A Family Workshop in Girona Since 1945
For players seeking a traditional-style Spanish classical guitar, these instruments by Hermanos Camps simply can't be topped. The workshop was founded in 1945 by Juan Camps Coll in Banyoles, in the Catalan province of Girona, and is run today by his sons, the brothers Jordi and Javier Camps, who learned everything from their father from a very early age. All of their guitars are built in their own workshop in Girona.
Lightweight Build, Easy Setup, Clean Fit and Finish
Jordi and Javier are focused on how to ensure that their guitars have a lightweight yet solid build, with an incredibly comfortable low and easy setup and precise attention to an ultra-clean "fit and finish". Of course tone quality and balance are the ultimate concern, and we are extremely proud to say that these are among our better Spanish-made classical guitars.
Tradition and Innovation
The guitars are built according to the traditional Spanish methods going back to Antonio de Torres, the father of the modern guitar. But the Camps workshop has always pursued innovation too – Juan Camps was forever experimenting with new building techniques, and today's guitars include modern touches such as a reinforced neck for an accurate, stable setup.
