Marcin Dylla's Performance at Jochen Rothel's Workshop

Player Spotlight

In a recent recording on his personal YouTube channel, Polish classical guitarist Marcin Dylla shares his interpretation of "Sonata in D Minor" by Silvius Leopold Weiss. Dylla, known for his accomplishments including the 2007 GFA ICAC competition win and various international awards, delivers a gorgeous performance.

Recorded at Jochen Rothel's workshop in Sommerhausen, Germany, this setting might be already familiar to people who follow the GSI YouTube channel. This location was previously featured in our "On-Location With D'Addario" video series when Filippos Manoloudis recorded a set of videos on a GSI guitar made by Rothel.

Dylla's video on the other hand doesn't feature a guitar made by Jochen. Instead, he recorded this performance on an "1885 Antonio de Torres SP/CY “SEU 03”, ex Federico Cano" guitar, adding a historical and distinctive touch to the recording.
