See Photos of Our First Guitar by Francisco Muñoz Alba
A native of Granada, Spain, Francisco Muñoz Alba is naturally rooted in the “Granada-style” of luthiery. During the formative years of his career, he learned from some of the great Granada builders in history, including Rafael Moreno and Antonio Marin Montero, and his pedigree shows in his craftsmanship, which earned him 1st place in the 2018 Granada Guitar Building Competition. GSI President David Collett was one of the judges at that competition last year (you can see our post about that here), so he saw the award-winning instrument, which was built with ebony. Ours is the same exact model but made with Indian rosewood, and we’re excited to show it to you all as our first new classical guitar made by Francisco for GSI. It’s en route to us now.
Although this is our first new guitar from Francisco, we do have a 2008 blanca flamenco that was owned by Grisha Goryachev, which further shows these are fantastic guitars! See for yourself what the new Francisco Muñoz Alba looks like in these photos below.
