Young Guitarist, Xeno Müller II, Visits GSI For The First Time and Records Three Videos.
Recently we had a new guest in our showroom. Xeno Müller II might be already known to some of you as the cohost of the second season of GFAtv, a Guitar Foundation of America's YouTube show dedicated to classical guitar and its community.
Xeno is a very interesting and unique player. During his visit to GSI, he managed to record three videos. His recording session started with Eduardo Díaz' "Recuerdos" on a 2021 Vladimir Druzhinin SP/AR guitar. This instrument is built in the traditional Spanish style with beautiful lyrical trebles, and smooth, yet firm basses.
Xeno's second piece, Roland Dyens' "Tango en Skai" has reached over a quarter of a million people on our social media channels. Xeno's interpretation is filled with energy and an abundance of fresh musical choices. It was very well received among our audience. For this video, Xeno picked a 2021 Masaki Sakurai “Special” CD/AR guitar. The stiffer neck of this guitar improves sustain, while the cedar top delivers a rich, warm quality of sound while still retaining the clarity and balance of its spruce counterpart.
As his final piece, Xeno recorded his own arrangement of "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane on a 2005 Jose Ramirez “1a Tradicional” CD/IN guitar. This guitar has all the color and warmth normally associated with a great Ramirez and has playability more like these Madrid-made guitars of the 1950s.
