Description

This guitar was made by Arcangel Fernandez, one of the best Spanish luthiers in recent history. Like his master Marcelo Barbero, Arcangel's work has played an integral role in defining the true flamenco guitar. This example from 1967 was owned for many years by the great pedagogue Fred Noad, and is a masterful instrument, as is evident in the quality of workmanship and sound. Although definitely a collectible piece, it is a very strong performing guitar as well, with a bright and percussive sound. Like all great Arcangels, the basses have impressive richness and body, and the trebles have a "cutting" yet lyrical quality. This is a highly desirable guitar from a maker whose instruments are becoming increasingly rare.
