Dominique Field is internationally recognized as France's top builder in his generation and demand for his instruments is so extreme that his enormous wait-list had to be closed in August of 2006. This instrument, built in 1992 already has features of his current style including his (now) classic headstock shape (previously he used a 3-lobed Torres/Hauser style shape until 1989), basic proportions/dimensions and white tie-block veneer. Soundwise, this guitar has the magically unique sound that Field is praised for - it has the refinement of tone along the same lines of Bouchet and Hernandez y Aguado, two of Field's influences. It has a large tonal palette and great dynamic range, giving it excellent lyrisicm and expression. Condition is excellent with only 1 small repaired crack in the back, otherwise barely any playing wear. The aged top has already started to darken giving it the look of a much more vintage, antique guitar. Of note, this guitar is 2 numbers away from Eduardo Isaac's guitar (#83) that can be heard on several of his great recordings. Overall a great and very satisfying guitar to play and listen to.
