In our opinion, Field is simply one of the best makers in the world today. His instruments are meticulously built with a level of detail found in only an elite handful of other makers - it's simply remarkable just how clean the fit and finish of his instruments are. This 2001 example (#146) has a gorgeous, powerful tone. It has two hairline cracks on the soundboard, repaired years ago by Yuris Zeltins, and stable ever since. Otherwise it is in excellent and completely original condition including finish.
Field guitars are currently being played by some of the world's leading concert artists including Eduardo Isaac, Vladimir Mikulka, Julian Byzantine, Adam Holzman and the great flamenco artist, Vicente Amigo among others. Field's wait-list is currently 17 years, making these virtually impossible to acquire. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a top example of this maker's work without sitting on a long wait-list.
