Description

A stunning and very authentic reproduction of the famous 1937 Hermann Hauser I guitar of Andres Segovia (now residing in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City). Kenny Hill's construction is based on the blueprints of this original Hauser, documented by R.E. Brune. All details are meticulously reproduced, including dimensions and thicknesses, internal bracing patterns, and a host of other features, including the famous Hauser "V-joint" behind the head, and in the inlay work, including rosette and head veneer. Other notable details are the beautiful materials including gorgeous spruce top with some subtle bearclaw markings and cross-grain "aguas" due to the high-quality grade cut of quartersawn wood, and a lush set of Indian rosewood for the back and sides. Playability is excellent with a comfortable neck shape and truss rod for easy action adjustment. Sound is crystal-clear and the balance is like that of a piano - these are famous traits found in original Hauser guitars. All in all, this "Hauser '37" model is a wonderful tribute to the instrument which Segovia called "the greatest guitar of our epoch". Although a second-hand guitar it is in excellent condition with minimal playing wear in the finish.
