Ron Bushman had a long career as a mechanical engineer and built flamenco guitars in his spare time. They were known for the precise build quality you'd expect from an engineer and for their authentic Spanish character. When Ron retired, he increased his guitar making, and his last 15 or so guitars, built on the Reyes plan, were his best yet. After this guitar, he retired from guitar building as well; this instrument is the last, and finest, that he built. He kept it for many years, but has recently decided to sell it.
While its volume and responsiveness first get your attention, the tonal complexity, perfect balance and extreme ease of play are the real standouts here. This guitar is nearly effortless for the left hand. Cosmetics are top notch too, with a very refined aesthetic. The top of the guitar is finished in shellac for best sonics, while the body and neck are in a beautifully smooth lacquer for durability. It has traditional wooden tuning pegs that operate more smoothly than any we've ever had in the shop. We could offer you mechanical peg replacements, but it would be a shame to switch them. Condition is pristine, as it came from Ron's shop. A real winner, and one of the best values in our inventory.
