This model was designed by Wolfgang Jellinghaus for the serious students looking for a workhorse of a guitar that delivers a huge sound. The lattice-braced top gives it a plenty of power, and the lightweight build all around gives it a traditional "feel" in terms of quick, punchy attack and harmonically rich content of sound. It also features a more traditional elevated fingerboard (not the "floating" style as he does in his Signature models) for improved playability in the upper registers and a high 20th fret for repertoire needing that high c-natural. Although built as cost-effectively as possible (for example using more durable, but less expensive lacquer for the finish) and Indian rosewood for the back and sides (as opposed to higher priced exotic woods), materials selected are still first-rate including a gorgeous spruce top with a healthy amount of bearclaw figurings, and a lovely, dramatic set of Indian rosewood with beautiful figuration in the grain. Aesthetic details are those of Jellinghaus - including a very cool "blue" colored rosette in one of his more featured designs. Although built for the serious student, this is easily a very impressive concert guitar, which could easily be used in any professional setting.
