Handmade in Kurume, Japan, Since 1962

Asturias Guitars is based in Kurume City, in Fukuoka Prefecture on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu. The workshop has been building guitars since 1962, and today about fifteen craftsmen work there, each with a deep understanding of authentic sound. Over more than half a century, they have earned the trust of players through meticulous handcrafting, long-seasoned materials, exceptional finishing, and flawless final adjustments.

That simple philosophy guides everything the Asturias craftsmen build. Their guitars combine high-quality sound, a fine sense of craftsmanship, and a reasonable price, with a meticulous attention to detail that always keeps the player in mind.

Handcrafted with Care

Every Asturias guitar is carefully made by hand, using only select woods that have gone through a long seasoning process. Before building begins, the wood is stored for six months in a room kept at a constant 20°C and 40% humidity. All Asturias guitars have solid-wood soundboards, whether cedar or spruce, and special care is taken in finishing the fret ends and the edges of the fingerboard so the neck feels comfortable in the hand.
