Paula Lazzarini Finished Building a New Guitar for GSI
Paula Lazzarini, an Argentine-Italian luthier, has offered a glimpse into our latest guitar. Paula featured this particular instrument at the 2024 edition of the Roma Expo Guitars, and we rate this instrument very highly! The materials used are excellent; the top is made of a beautiful set of red cedar, while the back and sides are made of cocobolo wood. It's also the first guitar from Paula that features a neck made of flamed cedar. The tuning machines are made by Alessi. Paula's bold almost "architectural" aesthetic style is very unique and a pleasure to look at. The internal bracing pattern is primarily inspired by Daniel Friederich but with some adjustments to achieve a more cello-like sound.
When Paula presented this instrument in Rome, Xuefei Yang had the opportunity to test this guitar and she even posted a video recorded on this guitar on her Instagram account. Check out the video below!
Paula is a very talented luthier. She received the first prize in the 4th edition of the esteemed Antonio Marin Montero Guitar Building Competition held in Granada, Spain, marking her as the first female classical guitar builder to win this prestigious prize. We also have some sneak peek photos documenting the building process of this guitar. Check them out below!
