This guitar was made by Arcangel Fernandez, one of the best Spanish luthiers of flamenco guitars in latter half of the twentieth century. Like his master Marcelo Barbero, Arcangel's work has played an integral role in defining the archetypal flamenco guitar which still to this day, serves as the model for contemporary flamenco luthiers trying to obtain that classic, mid-century sound. This example from 1971 is in fantastic, crack-free condition. Characteristic of Arcangel's mature style, it is lightweight in build with optimal use of materials. The top itself is lightly braced with only 5 fans, which increases the boom in the basses, and speed of response in the trebles. Also features traditional wooden tuning pegs. Extremely desirable in all ways - to the performer and collector alike.
