Description

This instrument from 1976 was built during what many players and aficionados consider Fleta's golden cedar period. The sound is absolutely magical, powerful and rich with a deep body resonance that is almost cello-like. It has unusually good separation of voices even when playing chordal passages. Balance is perfect, and it has a haunting, mysterious and dark sound, with substantial power. One of its most remarkable characteristics is its superb sustain in virtually every register. The condition of the guitar is great - it has no cracks and is original condition with only very modest signs of playing wear. This instrument has only had one previous owner to date, classical/film composer and guitarist Craig H. Russell, whose orchestral works have been released by Naxos and whose guitar concerto was recorded by Jose Maria Gallardo del Rey. This Fleta is in exceptional playing condition - ready for recording studio or concert stage. This is certainly a fine example from one of the greatest luthiers of 20th century. A very desirable instrument for both collector and performer.
