Robert Ruck is one of the most recognized names today in the USA and has had a very prolific career, having built over a thousand instruments to date. Grammy-nominated classical guitarist Berta Rojas received this guitar in 1996 directly from Robert Ruck who originally built it for himself in 1994 - in fact there is an inscription under the sound hole that reads "made for Robert Ruck by Robert Ruck". Berta Rojas used this guitar as her main recording and touring instrument from 1996 until 2008. Apart from this fantastic provenance, it is a superb guitar in all respects. It has very a firm, solid tone, which feels deeply anchored to the fundamental of each pitch while the hum of the higher partials adds a beautiful texture to the body of the sound. Volume is surprisingly loud - much like a great Miguel Rodriguez. Playability is a breeze with a very comfortably shaped, easy neck. Condition is excellent - no cracks or structural repairs. Before deciding to put it up for sale, it had some polish work done to the top to cover some playing wear, and was re-fretted - all by Robert Ruck himself. Overall a fantastic instrument with a great history.
