Robert Ruck is regarded as one of the most recognized names in American guitar making, and had an extremely prolific career, having built over a thousand instruments, a rare feat by any maker. Perhaps the most famous of his output is the 70's guitar owned by Manuel Barrueco which was used on nearly all of his classic recordings. This particular guitar is superb example of Ruck's best work from the late 70's in all respects. It has very a firm, solid tone, which feels deeply anchored to the fundamental of each pitch while the hum of the higher partials adds a beautiful texture to the body of the sound. It has plenty of volume and could easily fill a large concert hall with minimal effort from the player. Although a longer-scale guitar, playability is a breeze with a very comfortably shaped, easy neck. Condition is excellent with only one hairline crack in the back (recently repaired and touched up by GV Rubio). Otherwise there is only some very minor wear in the finish. Back and sides are lacquered and the top is French polished making this a very durable and great sounding guitar for the busy guitarist on the go. Overall a fantastic instrument by one of the most established and respected US builders.
